You couldn't ask for more in a language tutor! Sintija tutored my young daughter – a Latvian language beginner – with incredible flexibility, patience, humor and skill. Later, I decided to improve my own Latvian, as a fluent speaker but born in the United States. I wasn't terribly specific in exactly what I was looking for, but Sintija quickly found a way to make weekly lessons challenging, fun, and engaging. Whether starting from scratch or looking to take your language skills to the next level, Sintija is the way to go!
Sintija is an excellent tutor! She is a native Latvian speaker, but has lived in the USA for several years, so she understands all the nuances of English expressions too, a bonus when doing translations. I highly recommend her expertise as a Latvian language tutor!
Trying to learn a new language, especially as an adult, can be intimidating, and often discouraging. Sintija seems to love sharing the Latvian language with the world, and her encouragement during classes has instilled confidence in me as I attempt to slowly conquer this interesting language of my ancestors. She has been super-flexible, tailoring my sessions specifically to me and my goals (and pace). Learning on Skype is so convenient, and I think just as effective as in-person, and the one-on-one attention can't be matched. I highly recommend studying Latvian with Sintija!
Sintija is a really fabulous teacher — calm and thoughtful and extremely well prepared, and fun to spend time with. I arrived with a headful of Latvian words from family members, but no sense of tense or declension, and I feel I've really improved with a year of weekly lessons.

I highly recommend Sintija for Latvian language tutoring. I started with some elementary Latvian language, and wanted to improve. She has a very good ability to recognize my weaknesses and customize lessons to addresses those weaknesses. She has created very good language proficiency exercises for me, helping to ingrain the grammar, and improve my vocabulary. Her fluency in English and knowledge of English grammar is of great benefit to my learning. fantastic experience overall.
Latvian tutor has been amazing since i first started learning. I’ve always believed that you “can’t teach an old dog new tricks”, but Sintija does a incredible job at customizing your lessons so that anyone can learn Latvian, even an old guy like me. And she always goes above and beyond what I expect. Her English is better than most Americans, her personality is awesome, and I felt comfortable learning and speaking from the very first lesson. I really thought I was not smart enough to be able to learn another language, but it was amazing to me to be able to understand some conversation when i had visitors from Latvia. If you decide to start learning Latvian you will not be disappointed with Latvian Tutor!
Sintija is a wonderful instructor! I grew up speaking Latvian at home, but never studied the grammar. She has helped me understand a very complex language. I could not stress enough how important Sintija has become to me and my relearning of Latvian. I was born in Latvia but lost all of my language, Sintija reminded me why this beautiful language should be remembered. I’ve been studying Latvian with Sintija for about 8 months now, and she’s a good teacher with a flexible approach and a variety of resources to help students get the most out of their time and effort. Latvian’s a difficult language, but I’m making progress!
Sintija has been an immense help on my Latvian language journey! After losing (or misplacing) much of what I’d previously learned, Sintija helped me rebuild vocabulary and comprehension from the ground up. Even when reviewing material that was familiar, Sintija really helped me understand the rules of “why”, which was the missing piece! She customized lessons to meet my needs and made the process truly enjoyable.
Sintija is fantastic. She is very knowledgable and has so many different methods for Latvian learning (for those of you trying, you know it can be hard to find good resources of videos, grammar, audio, podcasts, etc. at your level). She is also so kind and makes the lessons fly by. I'd give 6 stars if I could!
