Hi, I'm Sintija
I'm a native Latvian speaker, translator, and Latvian language teacher based in the United States. I help students learn Latvian through personalized online lessons tailored to their goals and level.
My Story
I have always been passionate about languages and communication. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Translation and Interpreting (Latvian-English language combination) from EKA University of Applied Sciences in Riga, Latvia.
After graduating in 2016, I worked as a freelance translator, editor, and article writer. When I moved to the United States later that year, I wanted to stay connected to my Latvian roots and contribute to the Latvian community abroad. This journey led me to discover my passion for teaching Latvian.
Today, I enjoy helping students build a deeper connection with the Latvian language—whether they are learning for travel, heritage, personal interest, or professional reasons.
Teaching Approach
I believe successful language learning starts with a strong foundation. My lessons combine clear grammar explanations, vocabulary development, pronunciation practice, and conversation to help students understand Latvian and use it with confidence.
My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and encouraging, creating an atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.
